Dental implants are arguably the most desirable dental restoration procedure available to patients. If you are missing one or several teeth, dental implants offer a permanent and natural-looking solution. For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. The implant itself is made of medical-grade titanium and is secured into the jaw bone. The implant takes a brief period to time to heal and naturally fuse with the bone. Once the bonding is complete, the second procedure entails adding the abutment, or small metal post, to anchor the custom crown. Before performing any dental implant procedure, Dr. Bailey will assess your health, address any questions and make treatment recommendations to ensure you receive the best results. We provide a wide array of oral and maxillofacial surgical services to all of the Panhandle Region and are happy to schedule a consultation to discuss your options for dental implant placement.
Wisdom Tooth Extractions
Your wisdom teeth are an additional third set of molars that are the last to erupt in your mouth. While most people do have wisdom teeth, most people do not have the space in their mouth to fit four additional teeth. This overcrowding of teeth causes many potential problems. Wisdom teeth may grow sideways, partially emerge from the gum, and even remain trapped beneath the gum and bone. In order to prevent future problems from your wisdom teeth like pain, gum disease, and displacement of healthy teeth, Dr. Bailey recommends that wisdom teeth need to be extracted as early as the mid-teen years. In most cases, the removal of wisdom teeth is performed under IV sedation and the patient sleeps comfortably through the treatment. All of our surgical services are provided in a very safe environment. The entire office staff has completed certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), OSHA infection control and sterilization techniques to ensure you receive the best surgical care. If you have any questions or concerns about your upcoming wisdom teeth removal procedure, or you would like to schedule a consultation, please don’t hesitate to contact Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of the Panhandle Region.
